If I am repaired, can we meet again for the first time, in all of the places I have feared to go, and then, again, in all of the places I will have forgotten, if I am repaired?

They say not to keep anger bottled up inside of you, that it’s cancer to the soul, and it will claim some part, if not all of you, eventually.

I wonder if the same is true of beautiful things, our mind’s and hand’s creations, things we are most proud of, the things that we hold in outstretched arms and say, “Look. See what I made”. I wonder, if these things are never shared—there’s no one to share them with—if some limb doesn’t wither and die; if the soul is defeated.

  1. Very deep, but a bit sad. Don't worry, Steven! You are constantly sharing beauty with all of us day in and day out. I don't see how you could just "shrival up" at this point! ;)

  2. Share, share, share! I think that's a beautiful thought. Keep 'em coming, because I would hate to see them wither and never be appreciated!

(This comment brought to you by the word "angxsh." Which is what my tragedy posts are full of, posts which you make so much better with your comments and emails.)

  3. (I'm just writing directly what I think so maybe I'll change my mind later)

but I think no, it's something different.
Although it sometimes gives us the boost we need, anger is destructive and in se negative.

But with beautiful things, it wouldn't work that way. Even if you keep it for you alone, I think you will remain proud of your beauty and creations, you will cherrish them.

But the risk is that this way you alenienate from the others.
So yes, sharing may be the best thing to do...

  4. Sometimes no one can feel the rapture one feels in creation unless they have done something similar or they are very empathetic... but not to share would not be right either..

I say, offer and maybe it will enlighten and they may begin to know that they can do it too...

I like the way you examine things..
