If I am repaired, can we meet again for the first time, in all of the places I have feared to go, and then, again, in all of the places I will have forgotten, if I am repaired?

On the Varied Titillations of Thunder

In this long thirst, I imagine the trees must arch their great spines and shudder when finally the drum of thunder is heard rolling across these drought-browned hills; the sound, bearing to their leaves the same promise a lover’s breath would to the cup of my own ear.

  1. So beautiful.
Not one, but two unexpected thunderstorms here yesterday, you could hear the trees, heaving a collective sigh of relief.
Hope you managed some rain !

  2. your title is story enough:)

but i wonder on the trees - must they feel or do we only project? but they must feel! (or do we only hope?)

and then this question reflects back on man? if only man feels then what are we? what!

  3. Jo... Got some. Most of went to Kentucky though. Fingers are crossed for the remainder of the week.

erin... I've watched my lillies follow the sun across the yard. They feel something. I vote the trees had a collective orgasm when they 'heard' the thunder. Done and done.
